Concept Sketches


This character is a visual template for a playable race in a SciFi Pen & Paper Roleplaing game. From this sketch, the visuals of the rulebook are derivated. The creature is completely built out of stone and wears metal, armor like, clothing. This sketch depicts the front side view of the character model i am currently working on. The idea behind this creature was to create undead that could be used in a SciFi setting.

This is a simple grass and moss floor texture. It has been created from photo material combined with painted elements. A burned grass texture, created from photo material.

A gravel and dust floor texture. It has been created from photo material combined with painted elements. Some weeds that can be used for covering wall elements as well as they can be used for covering forest floor or similar environments.

This texture can be used to depict moss covered rocks or floors. A simple rock texture. I did pay great attention not to display a texture with too much features. The main features should be based on the model, when using this texture.

Wooden board texture designed to cover large areas of wooden material. It is a combination of several photographed and painted textures.

Above you can see a set of textures that was originally created for the Maldavria Quake 3 Arena modification. Some textures like the wooden runetrim or the canyon wall, are parts of a larger subset of interconnecting textures.

A few special textures of the set. They were used to mark special locations in the maps.

These textures originate from a set of trims that were used for decorating interiors.

As there had to be a certain identity to each playable race's architecture, there were two different sets of trims.





The textures above were originally included in the neutral trim set.

Matte Paintings


The image above is a matte painting done in Photoshop. It was originally painted in print resolution for A3, so please note that the full-size image weighs about 2,6mb.

The most challenging part was to create a dense atmosphere. The clouds, being the main atmospheric element, received most attention.



This image was painted completely in Adobe Photoshop. It was originally a design study.

The image above is one of the concept artworks for my Project. It was created long before the start of the actual project, but nonetheless was the most important style influence.



This is a matte painting study that was aimed on combining a photographed mid-ground with completely painted foreground and background, without producing a style-gap.

This image is a lighting study that depicts a crater that glows green from within. Only the green primary light was painted to explore the possibilities and techniques.
